For work, I had the awesome pleasure of going on a press day with the National Park Foundation to explore Atlanta’s Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. I have lived in Atlanta for almost half of my life, but haven’t really explored the parks in the area. I knew we had beautiful parks, but I really didn’t SEE it until I joined the trip this day.
They teamed up with singer/songwriter Keri Hilson because she is a native Atlantan and has a genuine love for the outdoors. We got a chance to chat with her about nature and exploring parks in the area. We even talked about this being a great date
While at the park, we participated in River Floating which was fun. I will admit, I was a little scared for a second lol. The rocks underneath made me a little uneasy, however, we had a GREAT guide that got us through without any bumps, bruises, scars OR falling into the water.
We also got a chance to learn how to fly fish. That was alot of fun!! We had a professional guide give us the ins and outs of fly fishing and he taught us how to cast properly.

This was a super fun day! I can’t wait to go back and explore more.
Visit a national park! There are the very popular ones that everyone knows about– but you can hang out at lesser-known parks to explore and burn some calories. This also makes me want to find parks in areas that I travel to in the states. Our country is so beautiful and sometimes we don’t even take the time to explore.
