It’s been three-and-a-half months since I became a mom and whoa—what an adventure it’s been! I made a conscious decision to try my best not to rush back into my fitness routine and to take my time getting back to a strict change of pace.
I gained about 60 pounds during my pregnancy and have lost 45 of them so far. (Thank God for breastfeeding!) While it has been nice to slowly segue back into yoga and HIIT training, I’ve noticed that my fashion tastes haven’t really changed, but my body has! I’m a habitual cropped tops lover! I used to love showing off my toned, sculpted tummy pre-baby, so when I discovered this printed jumpsuit from House of Chic LA, I didn’t hesitate about adding it to my wardrobe.

I was excited to get it onand see how it fit! The look and feel of the vibrant print was exactly what I had hoped for, but one thing that stood out to me was the way my tummy looked. I didn’t like that last bit of loose skin. For a moment I considered not wearing the outfit until I lost those final 15 pounds, but then how much of a hypocrite would I be. I talk about self-care, self-love and loving yourself all the time on the blog, so I had to put my money where my mouth is!
Speaking of money, I love this vegan leather handbag that I snagged from Melanie Bianco. It’s way larger than I thought it would be and I love the cool cylinder shape.
Now back to our regularly scheduled program! Not only have I embrace my new waistline, but I’m stepping outside of my comfort zone by sharing my experience with this insecurity with you on the blog.
My body has changed and I am embracing it. The gift of having my son TJ has been the best of experiences and while I still want to get back down to my pre-pregnancy size, I’m taking time to breathe and embrace the now as I affirm… MY BODY IS BEAUTIFUL and my new motto for the summer is MOMS CAN WEAR CROPPED TOPS TOO!
