I love the Essence music festival…not only for the concerts, but for the events happening around the festival. I don’t watch much current television, but HBO’s Insecure (Issa’s relationship life is my life 
) and Starz Power are my shows!!
Insecure
This year I was most excited to hit up the Insecure brunch hosted by HBO. It was the Wine Down that you might be familiar with after the show.
Issa Rae, Yvonne Orji and Prentice Penny did a fun interview with each other on stage. Ohhh– Issa must have a secret boo 
They surprised us with a performance by Ella Mai.

I also met Y’lan Noel who is sooo fine and very nice and will have a quick convo with you. Can’t wait to see more of his character this season.
Power
The next day we hit up the Starz Power brunch! This was so much fun at Cochon. The food was amazing and great vibes were had. I missed seeing the cast because I was in the back stuffing my face lol.
I always love a good brunch during Essence.
