We had another haboob yesterday in Arizona and it reminded me that I still have these pics! Some readers have actually told me that haboob isn’t the correct term, but everyone in Arizona calls it that and I really love the word so I still like to use it dust storms feel so apocalyptic and creepy – which I kind of love haha. Especially since it is always so sunny here, really any change in weather is so exciting. I also loooove the rain that follows these big dust storms we get! Warm rain in the desert is so magical it was so fun to experience it with the kids. I remember being little and having so much fun during the dust storms and thunder storms. BUT you do have to be careful of Valley Fever – my sister actually got it last year and it was very very scary and she is still dealing with it and will be on medication for another year or so. So, just be careful. I totally forgot about Valley Fever when we went out to play in the wind (it wasn’t that dusty where we were, we weren’t actually IN the dust storm just could see it and feel the wind) but still when you’re pregnant (specifically in your third trimester) Valley Fever is more dangerous so I was really kicking myself after we went outside. Def staying indoors for all future dust storms. (but the kids sure had fun haha!)
