Breakfast! Does It Really Do A Body Good?

Breakfast Does It Really Do A Body GoodBreakfast! Breakfast is the first meal of the day. You’re breaking your fast of not eating since you went to sleep the night before.

Do you even eat breakfast? I struggle with this one. My breakfast would be considered brunch. That time period that falls between traditional breakfast and lunch.

What foods do you eat to break fast and how does it make you feel?

Breakfast Foods: Eating Your Way to a Healthy Body

Yogurt bowls with fresh fruits, Greek yogurt and crunchy granola make a great breakfast, for some of you. The key to taking in any type of food is to listen to your body. The yogurt might produce mucus in some of you, whereas others can handle it with no problem.

An alternative might be a veggie omelet. It can often provide the energy boost needed to kick start your day. It provides your protein and vegetables in an early morning meaning.

Therefore, when you break fast you’re looking for foods that will nourish your body, help keep you full and sustain your energy levels longer. Smoothies have been known to meet all of these requirements.

No Heavy Traditional Breakfast Foods?

Typically breakfast is thought of as pancakes, bacon and eggs.  Or sausage and biscuits with a bowl of grits. Stick to the bone type of meals.  What does your body say to you when you eat heavy breakfast meals?

Does it make you sleepy or give you a boost of energy.  Only you will know.  We’ve been trained from childhood to eat certain meals at certain times a day.  However, when you eat for your body and job requirements, your food/meals will add greater benefits to how you feel.

Do you struggle to stay awake after eating that bagel slathered with butter and jam?  Or does it give you an energy boost?

What’s the Key To Breakfast Food?

The key to breakfast food is to make sure it doesn’t make you sluggish. You’ve defeated the purpose. Some of you will eat healthy meals all day long, yet your day begins with a 20 oz cup of coffee, loaded with sugar. The sugar is going to have you crashing.

Try a cup of matcha green tea or a matcha green tea latte made with coconut milk. Lots of caffeine for the boost you’re looking for. Too much coffee has been known to create female problems for African American women. Keep in mind, that dairy is certainly a culprit for fibroids for black women.

When prepping your breakfast meals, learn what gives you energy and what makes you feel sluggish. That will be the key to starting your day off with lots of energy. Try the recipes, share what works and what didn’t work. We will all benefit from each others experience.

That’s it for this week. As always …
