Does A Great Day At The Spa Sound Good?

Does a Great Day At the Spa Sound Good

A great day at the spa sounds good right now. Body Scrubs, massage, steam rooms, herbal baths, cucumber facials… Body Scrubs, massage, steam rooms, herbal baths, cucumber facials …. OH, I said that already.  It was worth repeating.

When’s the last time you made your way to the spa? It’s been at least a year for many of you. The Covid-19 Pandemic brought all of these relaxation type of treatments to a halt.

You’ve been patient, you had no choice. Now, things are looking up. You’re told that numbers are dropping. Do you dare believe it? As much as you’d like to run to your nearest massage therapist and spa treatment facility, it might be a good idea to wait a few more months.

In the meantime, there is an alternative.

Create Your Own Great Day At the Spa

Who says you can’t have your day at the spa in your own home? Within the past year, spa owners, massage therapist, natural hair stylist and fitness trainers have learned how to pivot in the current economy.

How so? They became mobile. My daughter has always served her clients as a mobile natural hair stylist, so her business slowed for about a week. She’s been with her clients for years. It just took getting comfortable with the idea of the pandemic and they were calling for her to maintain their standing appointments. They all took COVID test and kept it moving.

Back to the spa. Your bathroom can be turned into an in-home spa oasis. Your bathtub is your greatest asset when you’re trying to maintain your health and find a place to relax. Scented candles, essential oils, bath salts and soft music will work every time.

Give yourself at least 20 minutes three to four times a week. Everyday is even better.

A Great Day at the Spa Could Mean Bringing the Massage to You

There’s nothing like having a pair of well placed hands knead your body. Tight shoulders, aching backs and a tenseness all over can wreck havoc on your body. My neighbor had his massage therapist come to his home. He shared her information when talking with my son. Now we, as well as the other neighbors in the cul-de-sac have booked her services. Before the pandemic we looked out for each other. We continue to do so during the pandemic.

Types of Services

Traditional spa salons may not be how you work your way back. They can be more expensive and your services are limited time wise. There are communal type Korean spas that offer the same services, massage, body scrubs, saunas, facials and reflexology. However, you can pay a low admittance fee to enter the Korea spas and chose to enjoy the sauna and pool without paying extra.

Yes, you will share your massage and body scrub space with other women. It won’t matter, no one has time to critique your body. You’re there for the service. In these environments, you can go into the hot sauna and sweat to remove toxins with no time limit. This is one of the main differences in what is offered.

Your body scrub and massage are 40 minutes each if you want both. You choose the service you want and that will determine how long you stay in the area.

Spa Visits and Getting Back to Living Again …

We’re all working through PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) and could use a spa outing. Until we can get back to living again with some similarity of normalcy, creating your own spa environment is a necessity. If spa visits weren’t on your list before the pandemic, add it as a treat for yourself as we move forward. You’ll be glad you did.

That’s it for this week. As always …
