If you’re using a shea butter product that melts into an oil, you may have noticed it can be a bit finicky during the warmer months. But don’t panic! This simple tip will solve everything!
It’s important to remember that shea butter is all-natural and doesn’t contain any synthetic chemicals or agents which could keep it solid in extreme temperatures. Shea butter itself is a vegetable fat, similar to cocoa butter, that comes from the nuts of the Karite trees found in West Africa.
If you’re a shea butter nut like me, you know that this stuff is liquid gold. It’s moisturizing and healing, it makes my skin feel like a million bucks, and I can’t get enough of it. But when my first nugget of shea butter melted in the heat during shipping, I was totally confused. Did I mess up? Did the store mess up? What should I do?!
There’s good news: There’s nothing to worry about! All you have to do is put it in your refrigerator, and let it sit overnight. In no time at all, your shea butter will be solid again and ready for use!
Enjoy!
