We’re used to seeing new products, especially during New York Fashion Week, but Shiseido took everything next level with a complete re-package and re-launch of the brands color products. And there’s more… Shiseido will be hosting a NYC pop-up gallery to show the new line which is also available online and rolling out to stores over the weekend.
Pop-up details: Shiseido Japanese Beauty Gallery September 6-9th from 12 - 8pm daily 150 Wooster Street, NYC
*The first 50 people each day ill receive a limited edition Hello From Tokyo tote and sample product.
I had a sneak peek of the pop-up and caught up with one of my longtime favorite makeup-artists, James Boehmer, the brand’s Global Artistic Director. He took me through the collection and while I want it all (LITERALLY ALL), the two products I NEED — spoiler alert, you can touch, play, but you can’t buy at the pop-up, so I haven’t tried these past a quick dabble — but anyways his do it all Fude Face brush and the ArchLiner Ink Stylo Eyeliner. The synthetic brush above can be used for liquids to powders and the other side is a silicone sponge that mimics finger like motions. Make sure to dab, don’t rub with it the way you wou’d a brush. REMEMBER: Finger like motions…
Next is this Shiseido Stylo Eyeliner Ink, which is perfectly angled to make application flawless. And it can be used on both the angle or flip it for the other side. Whichever makes it easier on you. It’s super black, which is my favorite black. I also want to try this Kajal InkArtist Shadow, Liner, Brow pen. I love a precision to rocker smudge out liner but the fact that it can also be used on your brows is major.
So back to the pop-up… Shiseido invites you to rediscover Japanese beauty and celebrate the launch of the New Shiseido Makeup Collection at the Japanese Beauty Gallery. Shiseido Makup redefines beauty via four reimagined textures – gels, inks, powders and dews. At this limited time experience, walk through rooms that bring each texture to lift, test and play with the new line. Downstairs explore the J-Beauty in the Tokyo Underground Lounge filled with photos.
