Black skin care products. Whether it’s natural or organic, a basic knowledge of the ingredients will help you. While you may not be a chemist, it’s important for you to know what goes into the products that you use to care for your skin as Black women .
When looking at products used for black skin care, the key is to know that an organic product line may not always be better than a natural line but a synthetic product is definitely not good.
Therefore, find yourself a good combination of natural and organic ingredients to enhance the beauty of your skin. Your skin will thank you for it.
Natural or Organic Black Skin Care Products
Natural or organic? Many of the herbs used in skin care products are at concentrations below therapeutic ranges, in order to reduce adverse reactions. Look for ingredients like shea, cocoa, mango butters, olive oils and vitamin E. These are all good. You will also find that honey, essential oils and other vegetable oils are good additions as well.
On the other hand, water, alcohol and parabens, if found listed as one of the first three ingredients, this means that it’s found in high levels in the product. Alcohol is drying to your skin.
In a study published in 2004 in the Journal of Applied Toxicology, it was reported that parabens are a cause for concern. British researchers found traces of it in twenty women who had breast tumors. Parabens are believed to act like the female hormone estrogen. At high levels, estrogen can cause “some” women to develop breast cancer.
The key to Black Skin Care Products
You’ll want to make sure the ingredient stack is one of natural and/or organic. Your skin can’t handle a lot of ingredients that are abrasive. Whether it’s you face or body, you need ingredients that will nurture and nourish your skin.
Bottom line, all products need some form of preservative. However, if it can exist on a shelf for up to 3 years, sometimes longer, typically, it’s not natural or organic. While these products may not be on shelves in America, they often find their way to other countries.
Believe it or not, Black Skin is found to be some of the most sensitive skin on the planet and yet the most Beautiful.
Choose carefully the products used when caring for your skin as Black women.
