Your Neck and Your Hands, What Do They Have In Common?

Your Hands and Your Neck

Your neck and your hands, what do they have in common? [Update 2021]

Aside from your feet that carry the weight of our body, your hands do more work than any other part.  Over looked in most beauty regimens, your neck and your hands don’t get attention like the rest of the body.   So what does this mean?  It means that when not moisturized or slathered with sunscreen, your neck and your hands can show aging faster than your face.

Your melanated skin gives you a great advantage over most other ethnicities, yet when not moisturized properly, it can appear drier than any existing desert.  Why do we neglect our neck and hands?  It’s like, how can you not slather oil or moisturizer on your neck?  And your hands, how can they so often be overlooked?  We wash them, yet we add a quick lotion thinking we’ve covered the basics.

Your neck and chest area, known as the decolletage, is of a different skin type than your face.  Your hands are like workhorses.  They take on everything from cleaning your body, your house, to typing and cleaning your behind.

Your Neck and Hands Need Exfoliation

Did you know that your hands and neck could use a weekly exfoliation too?  Yes!  That’s right.

Dead skin cell buildup occurs on your neck and hands just as any part of your skin.  Probably more so.  Yes you wash your neck and hands, yet your neck gets a quick moisturizer of whatever you used on your face.

As for your neck, a jojoba wax bead in a cream will make a great product to help remove dead skin cell buildup.  The wax beads slowly dissolve when massaged into your skin, sloughing away dead skin cells in the process.  Yes, it’s the build up that can age the appearance of your skin, whether it’s on your hands or your neck.

They both need attention.

Give your neck and your hands the same attention that you give your face, treat them with tender lov’in care.  Be sure to add extra sunscreen when driving.  Unless you live in states where tinted glass is allowed, the sun is going to come in at full blast.
